The Cambridge Primary Programme a pre- AICE Programme, offers an international, pre-university curriculum and examination system that emphasizes the value of a broad and balanced study for academically able students.
Cambridge Primary helps identify a learner’s strengths and weaknesses and is used to support learning and development. It is an excellent framework for learning in the primary years and provides a solid foundation for progression to secondary education, including Cambridge Secondary 1, AICE and beyond.
The Cambridge curriculum aims to encourage the skills of independent research and investigation, the use of initiative and creativity and the application of knowledge and skills. A range of assessment techniques is used. Emphasis is placed on the use of externally marked examination papers by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and on compulsory practical work where appropriate.
The Cambridge Primary Programme also provides guidance for classroom teaching and learning. No part of the curriculum is compulsory. Schools can choose the parts that are right for their students, while following the national curriculum, or offer the entire programme on its own. Cambridge and Florida State Standards are aligned.
All Imagine Schools Palmer Ranch students participate in the Cambridge Primary Programme and receive a Certificate of Completion during the 5th grade moving up ceremony. Advanced students may elect to sit for the Cambridge International Examinations, administered at the end of 5th Grade.
